Installing the gas pressure spring for the tailgate

CAUTION: Shutting hood or trunk lid .
Injury hazard!

Support hood/trunk lid in fully open position with the aid of a suitable device.

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Position the gas pressure spring for tailgate (2) at the top and bottom of the associated ball head and lock with the locking spring (1).
