Installing the gas pressure spring for hood

CAUTION: Shutting hood or trunk lid .
Injury hazard!

Support hood/trunk lid in fully open position with the aid of a suitable device.

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Attach gas pressure spring for hood (2).
Place gas pressure spring for hood (2) on ball head and lock in place on the locking springs (1).
