- Always replace the recessed nut on the rear axle differential. Screw lock must be available.
- Strictly observe a minimum hardening time of three hours after having screwed in the recessed nut. The hardening time may be longer at lower temperatures.

- Do not use the double hexagon head flange nut as counter support.
- Clean any residue on recessed collar (1) of the twelve-edge flange nut and the gearing on bevel drive pinion (2) and degrease it.
- Top up the collar insert (1) with grease.

- To remove the adhesive residue on the thread, use thread file (1) .
The right thread pitch must be ensured!

- Do not contaminate the thread of the output flange with grease.
- Clean adhesive residue from the thread (1) of the propeller shaft hub.
- Clean hub gearing (2) and taper (3) .
- It is essential to grease the hub gearing (2) and the taper (3) .

- Replace recessed nut (1)
.

- Replace the retaining clip (2)
and seal.

- Insert and install the seal with the recessed nut (1) .
- Insert and install retaining clip (2) .
- Make sure that the recessed nut (1) is screwed on within 5 min.
- Make sure that the minimum hardening time of the recessed nut of 3 h is maintained.
The hardening time must be extended if temperatures are low.
- Insert and install the prop shaft (1) .
- It is imperative that you support the prop shaft (1)
using a standard jack.
- Hand-tighten the bolts (1)
.
- Push the prop shaft (2) against the recessed nut (1) up to the stop.
- Screw on the prop shaft (2) by at least 2 threads onto the recessed nut (1) manually.

- Hold down recessed nut (2)
on the transfer box using special tools 0 495 554 (33 5 070)
and 0 496 959 (33 >0 080)
.
The recessed nut (2) on the transfer box must not be used for tightening the prop shaft.
- Tighten the prop shaft at the central mount using the special tools 0 495 554 (33 5 070) and 0 496 959 (33 0 080) in the arrow direction .

- Install the prop shaft and slide in the arrow direction.
- Replace the bolts (arrows).

- Place and tighten the screws (arrows).

- Hand-tighten the bolts (1)

- Hold down the prop shaft (1)
at the central mount using the special tools 0 495 554 (33 5 070)
and 0 496 959 (33 0 080)
.
- Tighten down screws (1) .

- Feed out and remove special tool 2 407 851 between the front and rear prop shaft.
NOTE:
The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- Guide the intake filter housing (5)
into the rubber mount and install it.
Intake filter housing (5) must engage audibly.
- Tighten down screw (2) .

- Tighten clamp (4) .

- Connect and lock the connector (3)

The connector (3) must engage audibly.
- Insert and install the holder (1) .
NOTE:
The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- Thread in and install intake manifold (3)
.
The lock (2) must engage audibly.
- Tighten nuts (1) .
