Removing and installing or replacing console for windscreen washer system complete with motor

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DAMAGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

IMPORTANT: Before installing the wiper arms, allow wiper motor to run into rest position.

WARNING: Danger of injury from emergency operation, disconnect BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL !

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove COWL PANEL COVER .

Removal:

Release the screws (1, 2, 3).

Feed out the pushrod (4).

Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).

Slacken both screws (2).

Pull the console for the windscreen wiper system (4) out of the guide (3).

Unclip water channel (2) laterally from the body.

Slide the console for the windscreen wiper system (3) slightly towards the rear.

Release the latch mechanism (1) at the water channel (2).

Pull the water channel (2) out of the console for the windscreen wiper system (3) and remove.

Feed out the console for the windscreen wiper system (3).

Installation:

Feed in the console for the windscreen wiper system (3).

Feed in the water channel (2) and join into the console for the windscreen wiper system (3).

Clip the water channel (2) into the console for the windscreen wiper system (3).

Slide the console for the windscreen wiper system (3) slightly towards the front.

Clip water channel (2) laterally into the body.

Installation note:

Make sure water cover (2) is correctly fitted on the console for the windscreen wiper system (3).

Join the console for the windscreen wiper system (4) into the guide (3).

Connect the connector (1).

Align the console for the windscreen wiper system (4) and tighten with both screws (2).

Tightening torque 61 61 1AZ .

Installation note:

Ensure guide (3) is correctly installed.

The guides on the water cover (1) must not be damaged or missing.

NOTE: Make sure that screw (1) is not confused with screw (2).

Feed in the pushrod (4) and fasten loosely to screws (1; 2; 3).

Tighten down screw (1).

Tightening torque 51 61 16AZ .

Tighten down screw (2).

Tightening torque 51 61 18AZ .

Tighten down screw (3).

Tightening torque 51 61 17AZ .

Required follow-up work:

Install COWL PANEL COVER .
