Removing and installing/replacing distribution box (front)

Special tools required: 

• 00 9 325

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Clamp off BATTERY LEAD FROM NEGATIVE CONNECTION POINT .
• Remove COWL PANEL COVER .

Removal: 

Release latch mechanisms (1) and feed out lid (2).

Installation note: 

Make sure cover (2) is correctly locked.

Release power distribution box (1) with special tool 00 9 325 from lower section (2) and pull power distribution box (1) upward.

Release and disconnect all connectors in area (1).

Remove power distribution box (2).

Installation: 

Connect all connectors in area (1) to power distribution box (2).

Insert power distribution box (2) into lower housing section.

Installation note: 

Make sure all connectors are properly locked.

Make sure the power distribution box (2) is latched correctly in the lower housing section.

Installation note: 

The latch mechanisms (1) and gasket (2) on the lid (3) must not be damaged or missing.

Make sure the gasket (2) is correctly seated in the lid (3).

Join lid (2) on power distribution box.

Installation note: 

Make sure the latch mechanism (1) of the lid (2) is correctly engaged.

Required follow-up work: 

• Install COWL PANEL COVER .
• Connect BATTERY CABLE NEGATIVE TERMINAL .
