Passenger compartment:
- Check HORN, HEADLIGHT FLASHERS AND HAZARD WARNING FLASHERS .
- Check INSTRUMENT AND INSCRIPTION LIGHTING, PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND GLOVEBOX LIGHTING, BLOWER .
- Check LIGHTING SYSTEM : if necessary, adjust the headlights, function of front and rear lights and number plate lights, which will be charged for separately
- Check SEAT BELTS
- Check CHECK WINDSCREEN WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM FOR FUNCTION AND SETTING .
Rear/tires :
- Check TIRES (including compact spare wheel if present):
- Tread depth
- Tread wear pattern
- External condition
- Check inflation pressure and correct if necessary.
Observe the information on tolerance compensation for RDC.
- If fitted:
BMW Mobility Set: Check expiry date on the tire sealant bottle. Replace tire sealant bottle, if necessary (charge separately).
- Check that warning triangle, high-visibility jacket and first-aid kit are present. Check expiry date on first-aid kit (observe national legislation where applicable).
- Initialize RUN FLAT INDICATOR or TIRE PRESSURE CONTROL .
- Check the factory setting {STREET} on the rear spoiler.
If not in the factory setting: Point out to the customer that the vehicle is permitted to be driven on public streets only with factory settings.
Engine compartment :
- Check COOLANT LEVEL AND CONCENTRATION , top up where necessary (check both coolant levels on F01, F02, F10 and F30 hybrid cars). Inform customer in event of incorrect fluid level and, if necessary, troubleshoot (charged separately).
- WASH/WIPE SYSTEM : Check the fluid level and top up if necessary.
Underfloor:
- BRAKE LINES AND CONNECTIONS : Check for tightness, damage, mounting and correct position
- VEHICLE UNDERBODY including all visible components: Check for damage, correct position, tightness and corrosion
- STEERING COMPONENTS : Check for play, tightness if applicable, damage and wear
- Check the factory setting on the front splitter: The front splitter must be mounted in the direction of the vehicle, at the limit position at the rear.
If not in the factory setting: Point out to the customer that the vehicle is only permitted to be driven on public streets with factory settings.
- Check the factory setting on the chassis: Check if the C-clips on the front and rear axle are mounted and if the circlips are installed with torn set screws.
If not in the factory setting: Point out to the customer that the vehicle is only permitted to be driven on public streets with factory settings.
- Check the springs for corrosion and if necessary, replace and charge separately
- Check front axle support bearings for play and replace if necessary and charge separately
- Check stop pads and protective tubes for damage and replace if necessary and charge separately
- Check screw connections, shock absorbers/support bearings on the front and rear axles
- Check remaining brake pad thickness
- Check brake disc thickness
- Check brake discs for crack formation (beginning at the holes)
- Check dust boots of the brake calipers for damage
Test drive :
- Check for road safety:
- Brakes
- Steering
- Shock Absorbers
- Transmission
- Reset CBS DISPLAY according to factory specification
- Carry over maintenance works in electronic service booklet .
