17 11 031 Replacing fan cowl M52TU / M54 automatic with A/C system

Lever out expansion rivets and remove intake hood (1).

Remove fan impeller with fan clutch from water pump. See 11 52 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FAN CLUTCH (S52 / S54 / M52 / M52TU / M54 / M56)

M52TU only:

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

M54 only:

Detach plug (1) from AUC sensor.

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.

Release screw (1).

Lever out expansion rivet (1).

Gently press fan cowl in middle at top towards rear and unhook guide lug.

Lift out fan cowl and fan impeller together.
