51 11 001 Replacing front bumper (M Roadster, M Coupe): Installation:

Lug in spray nozzle (1) must be aligned with recess in clamping ring (2).

Tighten with the nut (3).

Lever out expansion rivet (1).

Drill out blind rivets (1). Lift out expander rivets (2) and (3), and remove bumper carrier (4). Remove left/right damping piece (5).

Version with headlight cleaning system:

If necessary, unfasten expanding rivets (1) and screws (2).

Remove carrier (3) with hose lines.

NOTE: The operation "Removing center section of front bumper (support beam)" ends here.

Replace front bumper or front bumper trim:

Remove and install front left/right side-marker lights, refer to 63 14 020

Unfasten screws (1) and remove insert (2).

Release lower detents (1) and lift out brake air duct (2) somewhat.

Release upper detents (1) and take off left/right brake air duct (2).

Unfasten retaining discs (1) and remove air grille (2).

Lift out cover (1) for towing eye. Release retaining strap (2) and pull off clip (3).
