Removal (4-spoke Steering Wheel With AIR Bag)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove driver-side air bag module. See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE .
  2. Ensure front wheels are in straight-ahead position. Remove steering wheel nut or bolt. Mark steering wheel hub in relation to steering shaft for installation reference. Loosening steering wheel nut or bolt activates spring clip lock holding contact ring in center position. Remove steering wheel.
