Contact Ring: Removal

Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL .
With steering wheel removed, remove lock with a small screwdriver. See Fig 1. Disconnect electrical connector, and remove nuts holding contact ring to steering wheel.
