13 90 500 Replacing tank venting valve (M52TU, M54)

Turn off ignition.

Location: 

Tank venting valve (2) is fitted at front below intake air manifold (1).

Remove intake filter housing, refer to 13 71 000 REMOVE AND INSTALLING INTAKE FILTER HOUSING (M52TU, M54) .

Remove intake hose, refer to 13 54 250 REPLACING INTAKE HOSE (BETWEEN AIR-MASS FLOW SENSOR AND CONNECTING PIECE) (M54)  or 13 54 251 REPLACING INTAKE HOSE (BETWEEN CONNECTING PIECE AND THROTTLE ASSEMBLY) (M54) .

Z3, E39, E46 and E53: 

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Release vent hose (2). To do so, press locking bar and detach vent hose.

Detach hose (1) from tank venting valve (2).

NOTE: Illustration shows removed supply tank for power steering.

NOTE: Interrogate fault memory of DME control module. Check stored fault messages. Rectify faults. Then clear fault memory.
