51 12 001 Replacing Rear Bumper (M3)

Replacing Rear Bumper Center Section (Carrier) (51 12 011): 

Remove complete rear bumper. Refer to 51 12 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE REAR BUMPER .

Convertible with TV only:

Remove TV bumper antenna.

Release expansion rivets (1) and screws (2).

Remove center section of bumper (3) (carrier) from bumper trim (4).

Installation: 

Make sure nut (1) is properly fitted in carrier (2).

NOTE: The work for "Replacing center section of bumper (carrier) at rear" (51 12 011) ends here.

Replacing Rear Bumper Trim (51 12 157) And Replacing Rear Bumper (51 12 001): 

Unclip cover (1) for towing eye at opening.

Lever out retaining strap and remove cover (1).

Remove metal nuts (2) from bumper trim (3).

Version with Park Distance Control (PDC):

Lever out catches (4) and remove ultrasonic sensors (5).

Installation: 

Retaining lugs (1) on ultrasonic sensor (2) must not be damaged.
