51 12 001 Replacing Rear Bumper (Convertible/Coupe)

Replacing Rear Bumper Center Section (Carrier) (51 12 011):
Remove complete rear bumper. Refer to 51 12 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE REAR BUMPER ,
Convertible with TV only:
Remove TV bumper antenna.
Release expansion rivets (1) and remove bumper center section (2) (carrier).
NOTE:
Shock absorbers are not on carrier.
Installation:
Make sure nut (1) is properly fitted in carrier (2).
NOTE:

Replacing Rear Bumper Trim (51 12 157) And Replacing Rear Bumper (51 12 001):
Remove reflecting tail light from rear bumper. Refer to 63 14 120 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REFLECTING TAIL LIGHT ON REAR BUMPER (COUPE, CONVERTIBLE) .
Unclip cover (2) for towing attachment from opening (1).
Lift out retaining strap (3) and remove cover (2).
