51 15 390 Removing And Installing/Replacing Protective Strip In Side Panel, Rear Left Or Right (Coupe)

CAUTION: Rear clip (1) is attached to protective strip (2) and cannot be replaced.

Unclip rear clip (1) with two special tools 00 9 317 (trim panel wedge).

Then unclip clips (3) and remove protective strip (2).

Installation: 

  1. Always replace front grommet (1) (leaks).
  2. If necessary, lever out clips or rubber grommet (2) from side panel.

Installation: 

  1. If necessary, replace faulty rubber grommets (1) and clips (2).
  2. Attach clips with rubber grommet to protective strip and align.
  3. Replace protective strip (4) if clip (3) is damaged.

Clip protective strip into door.
