Removal & Installation (V8 & V12)

Turn ignition off. Unclip oxygen sensor cable from retainer. Disconnect connector. Remove oxygen sensor with Special Tool (11 7 030). See Fig 1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Threads of new oxygen sensors are already coated with anti-sieze compound. If an oxygen sensor is reused, apply a thin coat of anti-sieze compound. Do not clean oxygen sensor section which protrudes into the exhaust line and ensure that it avoids all contact with lubricants. Note cable routing of oxygen sensor. Interrogate fault memory of control unit on Digital Engine Electronics (DME), check fault messages in memory, rectify faults and cancel fault memory. Information is not available from manufacturer.
