Removing and installing/replacing coolant pump (S55 engine)

Recycling: 

Catch and dispose of drained coolant in a suitable collecting vessel.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Remove FAN COWL WITH ELECTRIC FAN .
• Remove the DRIVE BELT FOR THE COOLANT PUMP .

Use suitable pliers (2) to remove the circlip (1).

Remove the belt pulley (1) in the direction of the arrow.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 11 51 2AZ .

Pull the coolant line (2) off the coolant pump.

Installation note: 

Replace O-ring (1).

Unlock the lock on the coolant hose (2).

Pull off coolant line (2).

Release screw (1).

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque: 11 51 1AZ .

Installation note: 

Replace gasket (1).

When replacing, remount the THERMOSTAT .

Assemble engine.

BLEEDING INSTRUCTIONS must be observed without fail.
