Replacing edge protection for left or right front door (M4 Convertible)
When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove FRONT DOOR SILL COVER STRIP (INNER) .
Depending on the version, the contact point is located between the cowl panel (1) and edge protection (2) sealing in area (A) or (B).
Only the version with the contact point in area (B) is available as a replacement part.
If it is converted from an old to a new version, the LEFT AND RIGHT EDGE PROTECTION (1) AS WELL AS THE COWL PANEL SEALING (1) MUST BE REPLACED .
Completely pull off edge protection (1) from body.
Installation note:
Install edge protection (1) starting in area "A?.
Edge protection (1) must be positioned correctly under the respective adjacent gaskets in areas "A" and "B".
Pull off mounting cord starting in area "C".
