Removing And Installing/Replacing The Rear Wing (M4 GTS Coupe, 2016 Only)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove TAILGATE TRIM PANEL .
Removal:
Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.
Loosen the screws (1) and remove the rear wing with the help from a second person.
Installation:
Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.
Replace the sealing ring (1).
Position the sealing rings (1) on the rear spoiler mount (2).
Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.
Position the rear wing on the tailgate with the help from a second person.
Check the sealing rings are positioned correctly align if necessary.
Tighten down screws (1).
Tightening torque 41 62 TAILGATE .
Replacement:
Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.
Position the rear wing (1) on the rear spoiler mount (2).
Attention!
The rear wing must be mounted using factory settings for operation in traffic. The rear screw must be screwed in the top bore.
Tighten down screws (3).
Tightening torque 41 62 TAILGATE .
For replacements (European version):
Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.
Remove the rear wing side section (1) in the illustrated position.
The tip (2) points towards the rear.
Tighten down screws (3).
Tightening torque 41 62 TAILGATE .
For replacements (US version):
Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.
Remove the rear wing side section (1) in the illustrated position.
The tip (2) points towards the front.
Tighten down screws (3).
Tightening torque 41 62 TAILGATE .
Required reworking:
- Install the TAILGATE TRIM PANEL .
