Removing And Installing/Replacing Left Tailgate Hinge (M4 Coupe)
Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .
For stripping and rigging operations, refer to texts on KSD CD (job number 41 62 043).
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove TRIM PANEL FOR STORAGE SHELF (parcel shelf)
- Remove left TENSION SPRING for tailgate
Secure tailgate against falling down with a second person.
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 41 62 TAILGATE .
Release nuts (1) and remove hinge.
Installation note:
Tightening torque 41 62 TAILGATE .
ADJUST hinge together with tailgate.
Only if hinge is replaced:
IMPORTANT:
Risk of short circuits caused by sharp-edged component in area (1)!
The wiring harness (2) must be completely wrapped with insulating tape in area (1)!
Check insulation of wiring harness in area (1) and completely wrap with insulating tape if necessary.
