Replace rear module hall effect sensor on right partition wall (M4 Convertible)
Installation note:
- Microencapsulated screws (Loctite) must be replaced and may not be reused
- Screw connection must be completed within 20 min. (start of hardening)
- Microencapsulated screws must not be retightened
- Clean thread of nut beforehand in event of repeated use
Open soft top compartment cover.
Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Release screw (2).
Unclip the wiring harness.
Carefully guide out the hall effect sensors to remove.
Installation note:
Hall effect sensor for soft top cover must be readjusted.
If there is no signal from the hall effect sensors, make the following adjustments:
Adjusting Hall-effect sensor for roof module:
Slackly tighten screws (1) on holder.
It should just be barely possible to slide the holder, as it must still move enough to center itself.
Stow roof module.
The optimum position of the holder is determined by retracting the centering pins into the lock.
Tighten down screws (1).
Adjusting hall effect sensor for soft top compartment lid:
Insert screw (2) only loosely.
Pull back hall effect sensor (1).
Attention!
Risk of damage! Switching plate must not rest on hall effect sensor.
Carefully close soft top compartment lid.
Adjust hall effect sensor (1) in relation to switching plate.
(A) = 2, 5 mm
Tighten screw (2).
Check function of hall effect sensor.
If necessary, reduce distance between hall effect sensor and switching plate.
