Removing butyl (M4 Convertible)

Special tools required:

Following components are required:

Method A:

Press out excess butyl with fishbone 00 9 321 under seal (1).

Stick adhesive strip (1) onto butyl and press down gently with fishbone 00 9 321.

IMPORTANT: Risk of paintwork damage!

Pull off adhesive strip (1).

If necessary, repeat procedure with new adhesive strip until butyl is removed.

Method B:

NOTE: Procedure in event of large-scale fouling of vehicle surface by butyl:

Shape lumps out of butyl remnants.

Press down butyl lumps (1) and pull off.

Repeat procedure until butyl remnants have been removed.

Clean painted surfaces with adhesive remover.

IMPORTANT: Adhesive remover attacks paint surfaces if allowed to act on surface for an extended period of time!
