Removing and installing/replacing release mechanism on front seat (normal/sports seat) left or right (Convertible)

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with safety information on HANDLING AIRBAG MODULES AND PYROTECHNICAL SEAT BELT TENSIONERS .
Inexpert handling can trigger off the airbag or the belt pretensioner and thereby cause injuries.
If a seat belt which is damaged due to an accident is exchanged, always check the affected seat for damage.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove COVER FOR SEAT BELT DEFLECTION .

Disengage seat cover (1) from hook (2) and fold to one side.

Release screws (1).

Disengage Bowden cable (1) from actuator (2) and holder (3) and release all attachments.

Remove belt deflector support upper section (4) complete with Bowden cable (1) from backrest in upward direction.

NOTE: For clarification purposes, seat is shown with seat cover removed.

Only when replacing the complete belt deflector support:

Release screws (1) and remove belt deflector support lower section (2).
