Removing and installing/replacing left socket housing for rear light (on tailgate) (M4 Convertible)

Slacken expanding rivets (1) and remove trim panel (2).

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unlock latch mechanism (2) and remove socket housing (3) from rear light (4).

Installation note: 

Make sure plug connection (1) is correctly seated.

Latch (2) must not be missing or damaged.

Make sure socket housing (3) is correctly seated on rear light (4).

Replacement: 

Carefully press down bulb (1) into socket housing (2), turn in direction of arrow and remove from socket housing (3).

Carefully release bulb (2) at latch mechanism and pull from socket housing (3) in direction of arrow.

Verify BULB TYPE .
