Removing and installing/replacing door window glass, front left or right (M4 Coupe, M4 Convertible)

Special tools required:

WARNING: Danger of injury!

Carry out work on the power window regulator only when the power window motor is de-energized.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Slacken multipoint head cap screws (1) on ring gear with special tool 2 360 051.

Tightening torque 51 33 3AZ .

NOTE: Slacken multipoint head cap screws on ring gear (1) until they can be screwed out slightly at inner star (2).

Open door window glass (1) until multipoint head cap screws (2) are accessible.

IMPORTANT: Danger of injury!
Disconnect plug connection (3) at power window motor (pinch hazard).

Release multipoint head cap screws (2) (turn to the right).

NOTE: Door window glass (3) remove for purposes of clarity.

Raise holder (1) at tab (2) and remove door window glass (3) in upward direction.

Installation note:

Make sure door window glass (1) is correctly seated on holder (2) and window guide (3).

Carry out function check on power window regulator and anti-trap mechanism.

If necessary, NORMALIZE power window regulator.
