Removing and installing/replacing the front splitter (M4 GTS only)

Removal: 

Remove the front splitter: 

Release screws (1).

Remove the front splitter (2).

Remove the front splitter adapter: 

Release screw (1) from rear.

Loosen the screws (2) and (3) on the front splitter adapter (4).

Loosen the double-sided adhesive tape from the front splitter adapter (1) in this area (2).

Remove the front splitter adapter (1).

Installation: 

Install the front splitter adapter: 

Clean the bumper panel on the bottom using R2 solvent cleaner.

Position the front splitter adapter (4).

Insert the screws (1) to (2).

Align the front splitter adapter (1).

Bond the front splitter adapter (1) in this area (2) using double-sided adhesive tape.

Tighten down screws (2).

Tightening torque 51 11 3AZ .

Tighten down screws (3).

Tightening torque 51 11 4AZ .

Tighten the screw (1) from the rear.

Tightening torque 51 11 2AZ .

Installing the front splitter: 

Position the front splitter (2) at the rear-most position.

Installation note: 

The front splitter must be mounted using factory settings for operation in traffic.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 11 1AZ .
