Removing and installing/replacing light strip on rear left or right side trim panel (M4 Coupe, M4 Convertible)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Exercise caution when handling lighting strip.

Do not strike the fibre-optic conductor against other objects.

Cut sound insulation (1) in marked area and remove.

Installation note:

Drill out all marked welding spots.

NOTE: So that contact surface is not damaged, drill only to base area of side trim panel.

Reed out light strip from side trim panel.

Remove plastic remnants from contact surface of side trim panel.

Installation note:

Carefully feed in lighting strip into side trim panel.

Secure welding pins (1) with lock washer (2).

Check light strip is fitted correctly, if necessary pressing down firmer on lock washers (2).

Saw off weld pins (1) to dimension (A).

A = 2 mm
