REP-TAT-P-6120-01 Disconnecting the negative battery cable of the system battery
Necessary preliminary work:
Remove right luggage compartment trim panel. Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH PANEL or REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL ON SIDE WALL, RIGHT (M4 CONVERTIBLE) .
Prerequisite
Ignition is switched off.
WARNING:
Deactivate the 12-V electrical system.

- Make sure that there is no battery charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- For vehicles with additional electrical systems (48 V electrical system, high-voltage vehicle electrical system), this absolutely must be deactivated before the vehicle battery is disconnected.

- Slacken nut (1).
- Pull off the negative battery cable (2) in an upwards direction.
- Place the negative battery cable (2) to the side and fix it.
