The centering must be checked for damage and lubricated before the prop shaft is installed. Replace damaged centering.

- Check centering (1) for damage; replace if necessary.

When assembling, it is essential to observe screwing sequences and tightening torques.
Failure to comply with the regulations can lead to leaks and damage.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Compliance with the following instructions is required to avoid a humming from the prop shaft after refitting the prop shaft. - Make sure that when the propeller shaft Is Installed, the three-hole flange (3) Is re-assembled with the flexible disc (2) on the specified level.
- Replace the screws (1) and nuts.
Parts: Bolts, nuts
- Hand-tighten the bolts (arrows).
- Mount the center mount and apply the bolts (1) hand-tight.
- Secure the propeller shaft on the center universal joint with a suitable tool (2) to protect it from twisting.
- Secure the special tool (angle of rotation ) 0 490 504 (00 9 120) with the special tool (magnet) 0 495 108 (00 9 130 )to the vehicle underbody .
- When tightening the bolt for the flexible disc, use the nut for counter support and tighten with the bolt.
- Tighten screws of the propeller shaft.TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Front flexible disc to prop shaft M12
Replace screws.
Joining torque and angle rotation must be adhered to.
Tightening via screw.
Joining torque 55 Nm Angle of rotation 90° - Tighten the screws (1).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Center mount to body M8
19 Nm - Mount the heat shields.
