Disconnecting the connector from the DME control unit and from the power distribution box (PDM)

Precondition

Ignition is switched off.

WARNING: Working on 12 V electrical system.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!

Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
Detach battery ground lead from battery.
For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
If control units are disconnected, fault memory entries and functional limitations may occur.
The fault memory entries must be read out and, if necessary, deleted.

Unlock all connectors (1) from front to back and disconnect them from the DME control unit.
Unlock all the connectors (2) from the power distribution box (PDM) and disconnect them.
If necessary, disconnect the wiring harness and set it aside.
