Remove front seat

Preliminary work

Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT STRAP FITTING .

Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!

All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced and appropriately trained personnel only.
Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Different variants may be installed depending on the vehicle equipment.

Adjust the front seat fully to the rear.
Loosen screws (1).

Disconnecting all battery ground leads

Cover the door sill using protective covers.
Place the front seat fully to the rear and disconnect the plug connector (1).
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Heavy component .
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage .
- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
Remove the front seat with the assistance of an support person.
For continuing work on the front seat: Mount the front seat on the universal seat mount and connect with the wiring harness if necessary

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Use of the universal seat mount is recommended for carrying out expert repairs.
Fit special tool 2 473 334 onto special tool 0 495 187 (00 2 300) .
CAUTION:
Heavy component .
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage .
- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.

Mount the front seat onto the special tool 2 473 334 .
To ensure a professional repair, it is recommended to use the special tool 0 495 187 (00 2 300) and 2 473 334

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Only use the following steps if the front seat has to be adjusted electrically.
In order to adjust the front seat in a removed state, connect the special tool 0 496 519 (61 4 150) with the vehicle wiring harness and the removed front seat.
