Removing the coolant radiator

- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

Immobilization period-long fill of coolant!
Do not reuse used coolant.
When replacing and removing components which rely on the corrosion protection effect of the coolant, it is essential to change the coolant. The cooling system must therefore be emptied and refilled.
In the case of other removal work involving the draining of part quantities of coolant, the coolant level must be topped up with new coolant.

- Unlock and loosen coolant line (1).
- Catch and dispose of escaping coolant.
- Unlock and loosen coolant line (1).
- Catch and dispose of escaping coolant.
- Unlock and release the coolant ventilation line (2).
If installed: Removing left and right brake ventilation duct
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
- Release the expanding rivet (1).
- Loosen screw (2).
- Feed out and remove the air duct (3) from the guide (4).
If installed: Disconnecting the coolant line
- Unlock the coolant line (1) and disconnect from the coolant radiator (2).
- Place the coolant line (1) aside.
- Unlock the coolant line (1) and disconnect from the coolant radiator (2).
- Place the coolant line (1) aside.
- Unscrew the bolts (1) on the charge air cooler.
- Guide out and remove the coolant radiator (1) in the arrow direction.
