WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2023 BMW X2, 2022 BMW X2, 2021 BMW X2, 2020 BMW X2, and 2019 BMW X2. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Mark separating cut (1) in accordance with separating cut on vehicle and cut. Thereby disconnect only the outer panel.
- Open welded connections in areas (2) and remove section (3).NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
For additional information see: 41 00... Welding in reinforcement plates (sheet steel) - Prepare a reinforcement plate (1) for the separating cut (4).
- Adjust new parts to fit with alignment bracket or universal mounting.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
For additional information see: 41 00... Welding steel components -
NOTE: For a better overview, the engine support inner section is hidden!
-
NOTE: The support of the wheel arch (1), engine support outer section (2) and mounting (3) of the front axle support must be welded in the areas (4) using plug/spot welding.
- Mark holes (4) (opened welded connections) on the new part engine support outer section (2) and drill. Do not drill through the mounting (3)!
- Prepare new part and reinforcement plate (1) in areas (2) for joining by welding.
-
NOTE: The component "mounting front axle support" is located in areas (1) and (2). (See also Fig. RB41-080-96)
The component "mounting front axle support" must be welded in areas (1) and (2) by means of plug-welding.
- Mark holes (3) (opened welded connections) on the new part engine support outer section and drill.
- In the areas (2), drill a bore hole of 6.8 mm diameter. Take the positions of the bore holes (2) from the removed part and apply to the new part. Do not drill through the mounting front axle support!
- In areas (4), prepare to join by welding.
- Prepare the new parts in the areas (1) for joining by welding.
Replacing the coarse thread bolt and threaded weld bolts (steel surface)
NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details. - Renew the coarse thread bolt (1) and the threaded weld bolt (2).
Parts: Coarse thread bolt, threaded weld bolt
Take the number and position from the component to be replaced or the add-ons.
- Weld the coarse thread bolt (1) and threaded weld bolt (2) onto the new part.
Check ground pins and replace if necessary
NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details. - Check the ground pins (1) for stability and renew if necessary.
