Preparing New Parts
- Mark and make the separating cut (1) according to the separating cut on the vehicle.
- Cut through both panels in area (2). In the area (2), the width of the separating cut must be about 5 mm, so that both panels can be welded to the body.
- Mark and carry out separating cut (3) according to the separating cut on the vehicle + approx. 5 mm material allowance. (4) = Separating cut on the vehicle.
- Remove the cut panel section (5).
- Adjust new part for engine support internal part using alignment bracket or universal fixture.
- Prepare new part in the areas (1) for joining through weld.
- Adapt new part for spring support using alignment bracket or universal fixture.NOTE: Inner section of engine support is hidden for better overview.
- In the areas (4) drill 2 x 0 10 mm holes for plug-welds. Do not drill through the fixture (3) of the front axle support!
Wheel arch support (1), engine support outer section (2) and the fixture (3) of the front axle support must be welded in the areas (4).
- Prepare the new part in area (5) for joining by welding.
- Prepare the new parts in the areas (1) to (3) for joining by welding.
- Increase size of holes in areas (3) (open welded connections) to 0 10 mm.
Transfer holes to new engine support internal part and drill.
All 3 panels must be welded to each other in areas (3).
- Prepare areas (1) to (3) for joining by welding.
All 3 panels must be welded to each other in areas (2).
- Adopt the position of the bore holes (2) from the removed part and transfer to the new part.
- In areas (2), drill 4 bore holes 0 10 mm for plug-welds. Do not drill through the "front axle support fixture" component behind it.
The "front axle support fixture" component is located in the areas (1). (See figures RB41 03111 and RB41 03112)
The "front axle support fixture" component must be welded in the areas (1).
- Prepare area (3) for joining by welding
- Prepare for joining by welding in the areas (1) to (4).
- Prepare the new parts in the areas (1) for joining by welding.
- Install new part and prepare for joining by welding in areas (1) and (2).
Note the position of the cavity sealing (3).
Replacing the coarse thread bolt and threaded weld bolts (steel surface)
NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details. - Renew the coarse thread bolt (1) and the threaded weld bolt (2).
Parts: Coarse thread bolt, threaded weld bolt
Take the number and position from the component to be replaced or the add-ons.
- Weld the coarse thread bolt (1) and threaded weld bolt (2) onto the new part.
Check ground pins and replace if necessary
NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details. - Check the ground pins (1) for stability and renew if necessary.
