Removing the outer window channel strip at the rear door

Precondition

The door window glass is open.

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.

Insert special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) into window cavity.
Position the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) as shown at the lower edge of the window channel strip (1) with the short shank (2).

Lift window channel strip (3) using the special tool 2 298 505 by a maximum of 5 mm as illustrated .
Position the special tool 0 496 570 (00 9 326) on the door trim panel (1).
Thread a suitable tool (2) through the opening of the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) .
Gradually shift special tool 2 298 505 and 0 495 484 (00 9 324) backwards until the window channel strip (3) has been completely disassembled.
