Removing and installing/replacing bottom left wishbone (AWD) (X2 xDrive 28i 2018-2023, X2 M35i 2019-2022)

NOTE: If the bottom wishbone is detached from the rear axle support/trailing arm, WHEEL ALIGNMENT  must be carried out after installation.

Necessary preliminary work: 

Removal: 

Remove rear heat shield (1).

Mark the position of eccentric washer to the trailing arm to simplify the subsequent adjustment of rear axle.

Release nut and remove screw (2).

Slacken nut (1).

Remove eccentric washer and unscrew screw.

Remove wishbone (3).

Installation note: 

Tighten screw connection (1) and (2) in NORMAL POSITION .

Installation: 

Align wishbone (3).

Replace the eccentric screw (1), eccentric washer and the nut.

Insert bolt (1) and connect eccentric washer.

Align eccentric washer to the marked position.

Parts:  Eccentric bolt, eccentric washer and nut

Tighten nut (1) in normal position (during wheel alignment).

Tightening torque 33 32 2AZ .

Replace screw (2) and nut.

Insert bolt (2) and screw on nut.

Move vehicle into NORMAL POSITION .

Tighten nut of bolt (2) in normal position.

Tightening torque 33 32 3AZ .

Parts:  Bolt and nut

Mount heat shield (1).
