Remove gearshift lever cover

Use wedges (1) to unclip the gaiter and pull it off upward.

Remove the gearshift lever knob and the gaiter by means of a powerful jolt vertically upwards.
In doing so, the tie rod must not be bent or damaged.
Ensure that the gearshift lever knob is not twisted when removing, otherwise the anti-twist lock in the gearshift lever knob will be sheared off.
