Opening the locking ring

- When working on the fuel system, make sure the workstation has sufficient ventilation, e.g., by means of extraction.
- Tightly seal off open lines and connections; collect any leakage fuel directly at the point of exit.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

- Turn sealing cap (2)
of the floor panel on plastic tabs (1)
in the arrow direction.
Install sealing cap (2) of the floor panel.
- If turning it is not possible: Damage and replace sealing cap (2)
of the floor panel.
- Unlock plug connection (1)
and disconnect.
- Press the snap fastener in the direction of the delivery unit.
- Press locks (1)
and (2)
together in the arrow direction and disconnect the snap fastener in the arrow direction.
- Set special tool 2 452 189 or 2 445 958(1) on locking ring (2) .
- Connect special tool 0 495 554 (33 5 070) to a 1/2-inch reversible ratchet head (3) and set it on special tool 2 452 189 or 2 445 958 .
- Release locking ring (2)
in counterclockwise direction.
