Installing the radial shaft seal for the output flange (ATC 13-1)

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the transmission.
Damage to the transmission due to unapproved transmission oil.

Use only the approved TRANSMISSION OIL .
Check the transmission OIL LEVEL after completing the repair.

Replace O-ring (1) in output flange.
Parts: O-ring
Make sure the O-ring (1) is in the correct position.

Oil the sealing lip of the new radial shaft sealing ring with transmission oil.
Drive in the radial shaft seal with special tools 2 409 305 and 2 413 037.

Push on output flange
Drive the output flange onto the output shaft using a rubber mallet carefully.
Press the output flange down with 2 screwdrivers and press the main shaft to the rear.
Mount shim.
Continue pressing output flange towards the bottom until retaining groove is completely visible.

Follow-up work

Check/top up the transfer box OIL (active torque control 13-1).
Install transmission CROSS MEMBER .
Fasten the PROP SHAFT (partially removed)
Install the RETAINING PLATES .
Install the HEAT SHIELDS .
Install the complete EXHAUST SYSTEM .
If installed: install the right and left TORSION STRUT where required.
Install the tunnel CONNECTING SUPPORTS .
Install the transmission side UNDERBODY PLANKING .
Install rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
