Remove and install left or right rear door trim panel (4' Series Gran Coupe Sedan)
Special tools required:
- 00 9 325
When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove COVER ON DOOR HANDLE
- Remove ROCKER SWITCH for power window regulator
Attention!
Do not pull on the folding compartment.
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 42 1AZ .
Attention!
Risk of damage!
Tape off rear door in working area with plastic adhesive tape.
Do not pull the door trim panel too far towards the inside when it is clipped in (risk of breakage).
Loosen the door trim panel around the B-pillar using special tool 00 9 325 starting from the clips (1).
Release the door trim panel from the clamps (2).
Installation note:
Replace faulty clamps (2).
Disengage Bowden cable (1) for release lever first at counter support (2) and then at door lock (3).
Installation note:
Perform function check for door inside handle with door open and rotary striker lock closed.
Feed out door wiring harness from all brackets.
Unlock and disconnect all plug connections, then remove door trim panel.
Installation note:
The centring pin (1) with the sealing ring must not be missing or damaged.
Replace faulty clips (2).
Installation note:
After assembling the door trim panel proceed as follows:
- Open side window
- Lock with ignition key
- Check for ease of movement on locking button linkage
- If necessary, align linkage
