Soft top service positions (4' Series Convertible)

Special tools required:

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Move soft top into position.

Move soft top so that angle of hinges is approx. 100°.

Unclip roofliner of rear upper roof shell from clamps (1).

NOTE: Remove roof hinge console with a helper.

Release screws (1) from roof hinge console (2).

Tilt roof shell forwards beyond its center of gravity.

IMPORTANT: Fix the roof shell by a cable strap (1) to prevent it from tipping.

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, shown here without roofliner.

Protect roofliner against damage and dirt contamination.

Attach special tool 54 0 170 with hook as follows in front linkage and rear roof shell:

NOTE: Hooks (1) may otherwise slip out of linkage.

Feed in and tighten tensioning strap.

Roof shells block each other.
