23 14 569 Remove/install/replace gear sensor (GS6-17BG/DG)

IMPORTANT: After installing the gear sensor, it is necessary to teach in the position of the gear sensor again.
Calibration is carried out using the BMW Diagnosis System "Service Function" (Teach-in/write gear sensor).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove the COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM .
Remove the REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Remove heat shield at front and rear.

Removal:

Supporting transmission:

Support transmission with special tools 23 4 050, 00 2 030.

Secure transmission to mounting with tensioning strap (1).

Disconnect connector (1).

Unfasten screws (2).

Remove gear sensor.

Installation:

Parts: Replace screws.

Install gear sensor.

Insert screws (2) and tighten.

Connect the connector (1).

Tightening torque, refer to: 23 14 2AZ .

Insert screws (1) and tighten.

Tightening torque, refer to: 22 32 3AZ .

Required follow-up work:

Remove the transmission jack.
Install front and rear heat shields.
Install the REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Completely install the EXHAUST SYSTEM .
