11 51 030 Remove and install component carrier (integral support frame) (B48B)

NOTE: Air conditioning does not have to be drawn off.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove ALTERNATOR
Remove A/C COMPRESSOR from alternator bracket
Drain COOLANT

Removal:

Disconnect vacuum hose (1) from clamp (2).

Release screws (1 - 3).

Release screws (1 - 4).

Loosen component carrier from the fitting sleeve and remove.

Installation:

Clean sealing surface (1).

Check fitting sleeves for damage in the marked area.

Replace faulty fitting sleeves.

NOTE: Sealing surfaces (1) must be clean and free of grease.

NOTE: Sealing bead (1) is bonded on coolant pump.
If a sealing bead (1) protrusion is present and not damaged, coolant pump can be installed again with the existing sealing bead (1).
If sealing bead (1) is damaged, it must be removed.
Apply SEALING COMPOUND 2.2 (Loctite 5970).
Sealing compound height approx. 2 mm - 2.5 mm.

Position component carrier.

Tighten screws in sequence (1 - 3).

Tightening torque 11 51 3AZ .

Attach vacuum line (1) into clamp (2).
