REP-TAT-P-3213-01-F30 Remove the electromechanical steering gear

Preliminary work
- Prepare fault memory printout
- Remove the RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL
- Disconnect the BATTERY EARTH LEAD
- Remove the FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT WHEEL
- Remove the FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION
- Remove the COVER OF THE STEERING ASSEMBLY
- Remove the LEFT AND RIGHT TRACK ROD END
- Release the STEERING SHAFT ON THE ELECTROMECHANICAL STEERING GEAR
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
After installation, the end stops must be taught in.
Also, perform wheel alignment after installation.

- Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1).
- Loosen and remove the screws (2).
- Carefully remove the electromechanical steering gear towards the front.
Check
- Check plug connection for moisture and corrosion.
- Check the access line for damage.
Result
» Plug connection is moist or corroded.
The insulation of the line is damaged.
Measure
- If the insulation of the access line is damaged: Partially replace the access line.
If the insulation of the access line is not damaged: Replace the contacts or the connector housing.
