Attention! 

Lifetime coolant filling: 

Never reuse used coolant!

When replacing and removing components which rely on the corrosion protection effect of the coolant, it is essential to change the coolant. The cooling system must therefore be drained and refilled.

In the case of other removal work involving the draining of part quantities of coolant, replace these quantities which have been drained with new coolant.

Installation note: 

Use only recommended coolant and observe mixture ratio, refer to: RADIATOR - OPERATING FLUIDS .

Protective measures/rules of conduct: 

• Wear safety goggles
• Wear protective gloves
• Observe national/country-specific regulations

Attention! 

For contamination of the cooling system (e.g. by engine oil), the cooling system must be rinsed with water until all contamination is removed!

Attention! 

Risk of skidding due to coolant on the floor.

Danger of injury! 

Catch and dispose of drained coolant in drip tray (1) and if necessary special tool 00 2 030 (universal hydraulic lifting equipment).

Recycling: 

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove the FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
• Remove stiffening plate (F23, F33)

Removal: 

Loosen the sealing cap (1) on the low-temperature coolant expansion tank.

Release screws (1).

Unlock and loosen clamp along the arrows.

Loosen screws (1).

Feed out cover (2) and remove.

Unlock coolant line (1) and release.

Drain, catch and dispose of coolant.

Installation: 

Connect coolant line (1) and lock.

The coolant line (1) must engage audibly.

Feed in and install the cover (2).

Connect and lock the clamps along the arrows.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque, refer to: 51 75 2AZ .

Adding coolant: 

Use only recommended coolant and observe mixture ratio RADIATOR - OPERATING FLUIDS .

Observe CAPACITIES .

Fill and vent COOLING SYSTEM .

Observe bleeding instructions without fail. 

Required reworking: 

• Install the FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
• Install stiffening plate. (F23, F33)
