24 34... Release parking lock electronically (GA8HP50Z, GA8HP75Z)

For various repair work, it is necessary to unlock and lock the parking lock.

Secure the vehicle against rolling away before releasing the parking lock.

• Only specially trained service personnel are permitted to operate both the MECHANICAL  as well as the electronic emergency gearbox release.
• The vehicle must be raised and the underbody panelling disassembled in order to operate the MECHANICAL  emergency gearbox release.

Electronically release the parking lock. 

Switch the ignition on.

Press the brake pedal and keep it pressed down during the entire process.

Press start/stop button and keep it pressed down during the entire process.

Press the release button on the electronic gear selector switch.

Press and hold release button, move gear selector switch into position N and hold there until position N lights up.

As soon as the Neutral N gear has been engaged in the transmission, a Check Control message will be displayed in the KOMBI.

The parking lock is now electronically unlocked.

After the parking lock has been unlocked successfully, release the brake pedal, start/stop button, gear selector switch and release button.

Leave the ignition switched on in order to subsequently move the vehicle.

The transmission automatically shifts into P when the ignition is turned off.
