26 11 090 Removing and installing/replacing front centering for propeller shaft

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove the PROPELLER SHAFT.

Removal:

Use the special tool 2 450 247 to remove the centering bearing.

Insert pin (1) and pin (2) of the special tool 2 450 247 into the centering bearing of the propeller shaft.

Twist pin (1) 90° to pin (2).

Twist pin (2) between pin (1) and (3) of the special tool 2 450 247 into the centering bearing of the propeller shaft.

Lock special tool 2 450 247 by twisting the sleeve (1).

Pins (2) are locked with sleeve (1).

Install guide sleeve (1).

Screw spindle (3) with special tool 2 450 247 (2) and support on the guide sleeve (1).

Rotate nut (1) in direction of arrow and pull out of the centering bearing.

Installation:

Remove grease or water from mount bore.

Drive in centering bearing (1) with special tools 11 2 350 and 00 5 500 into propeller shaft (observe protrusion).

Grease the centering bearing.

Grease: Recommended BMW PROPELLER SHAFT - OPERATING FLUIDS .

Observe protrusion A = 4+2 mm of centering bearing (1).

Required follow-up work:

Install the PROPELLER SHAFT.
