13 31 029 Checking fuel delivery pressure (B48)

Special tools required: 

• 13 5 270
• 11 4 310
• 11 5 364
• 13 3 060

Wear safety goggles and gloves.

Fuel can emerge spontaneously at high velocity when the fuel line is released!

Recycling: 

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel with auxiliary materials. Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Connect BMW diagnosis system.
• Remove the ACOUSTIC COVER
• Remove the SOUND INSULATION OF BULKHEAD UPPER SECTION, CENTER.

Removal: 

Remove cover (1).

Release circlip (1).

Release lock (1) in direction of arrow.

Loosen the fuel hose (2) from the fuel line (3).

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Unscrew adapter (1) from special tool 13 5 270.

Insert special tool 13 5 270 into disconnected fuel line.

Screw onto special tool 13 5 270, the special tool 11 4 310.

Screw IMIB 100 bar pressure sensor (1) onto special tool 11 4 310 (Integrated Measurement Interface Box)  .

Establish fuel delivery pressure. Read off fuel delivery pressure on Integrated Measurement Interface Box  and compare with values in BMW diagnosis system.

Installation: 

Release pressure sensor (1) from special tool 11 4 310.

Disconnect special tool 11 4 310 from special tool 13 5 270.

Disconnect special tool 13 5 270 from fuel line.

Connect and lock the fuel hose (2) to the fuel line (3) in the direction of the arrow.

Lock (1) must snap audibly into place.

Attach circlip (1).

Install cover (1).

Required follow-up work: 

• Install the ACOUSTIC COVER .
• Install the SOUND INSULATION ON BULKHEAD UPPER PART, CENTER.
• Check fuel system for leak tightness.
