Removing and installing/replacing left rear light (on side wall)

Unscrew clip (1).

Feed cover (2) in upward direction out of guides (3).

Installation note:

Make sure cover (2) is correctly seated.

IMPORTANT: Risk of paint damage!

Tape off entire area (1) with yellow plastic adhesive tape.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque 63 21 1AZ .

IMPORTANT: The rear light is secured in the body with a latch!
In the interests of avoiding damage to the rear light and the paint work the following text describes how to release the latch.

Detach the rear light (2) in direction of arrow from the latch mechanism (1).

Unlock associated plug connection and disconnect.

Remove rear light (2).

Installation note:

Make sure that rear light (2) is correctly locked.

Installation note:

Latch (1) must not be missing or damaged.

Guide (2) and seal (3) must not be damaged or missing.

Replacement:

Convert Bulbs. Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT SOCKET HOUSING FOR REAR LIGHT (ON SIDE WALL) or REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RIGHT SOCKET HOUSING FOR REAR LIGHT (ON SIDE WALL) if necessary.
