64 52 530 Removing and installing/replacing electric A/C compressor

WARNING: High-voltage system - danger to life!
The following points must be strictly observed prior to starting work:

DE-ENERGISE THE HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM
Observe SAFETY INFORMATION for working with hybrid cars.

WARNING: Danger of injury!
Refrigerant circuit is under high pressure!
Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigerant oil.
Read and comply with safety instructions:

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage! Restart engine only when A/C system has been correctly filled.
Read and comply with NOTES ON REPLACING COMPRESSOR .
Follow instructions for OPENING AND REPLACING PARTS IN REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .
If air conditioning system is opened for more than 24 hours: REPLACE DESICCANT INSERT FOR AIR CONDITIONING .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

DRAW OFF HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (drawing off, evacuating and filling the heating and air conditioning system are not included in the time value given for this job item)
REMOVE INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING

NOTE: For clarity, the graphic shows the headlight removed.

Intake port (6) is fastened to intake port (2) on both sides via retaining lugs (1).

Expand intake port (2) in the area of the retaining lugs (1) on both sides. Remove intake port (6) in direction of arrow.

Installation note:

Do not fit intake port (6) without a rubber mount (5).

Slide fixture (4) with rubber mount (5) on holder (3).

The retaining lugs (1) must engage in the associated openings of the intake port (2).

Pull clamp (1) off in an upward direction. Set hose (2) aside.

Release screw (4).

Release screws (3) from air conditioning lines (5). Lift air conditioning lines (5) upward and set aside.

Installation note:

Replace sealing rings.

Tightening torque 64 52 1AZ .

Unlock and disconnect high-voltage plug connection (3). Detach high-voltage cable (4) at the location marked with the arrow and set aside.

IMPORTANT: OBSERVE NOTE ON UNLOCKING AND DISCONNECTING different plug connections!

Unlock plug connection (5) and disconnect.

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.

NOTE: Raise unlocking device upward. Press unlocking device and pull off plug connection (2) upwards.

Detach line (1) at position marked with arrows and place to one side.

Tape off body area (1) with adhesive tape. Unfasten screws (2). Take off electric A/C compressor (3).

Tightening torque: 64 52 3AZ .

Release screws (4). Take off holder (5).

Tightening torque: 12 31 2AZ

Position electric A/C compressor (1) as shown in graphic and feed out upwards.

After installation:

EVACUATE AND FILL A/C SYSTEM
