Checking cylinder head for watertightness
Preliminary work
- Refer to INSTALLING THE CYLINDER HEAD ON THE SPECIAL TOOL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE EXHAUST TURBOCHARGER (CYLINDER HEAD REMOVED) .
- Refer to REMOVING EXHAUST TURBOCHARGER TRIM STRIP .
- Refer to INSTALLING THE CYLINDER HEAD ON THE SPECIAL TOOL (EXHAUST TURBOCHARGER REMOVED) .
- Refer to DISASSEMBLING CYLINDER HEAD .
- Position the cylinder head (1) on the special tool 2 361 215 and tighten with the enclosed (short) screws.
- Remove the venting connector.
- Install the special tool 2 410 136 (valve).
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Tightening torque | 18 Nm |
- Make sure that the pressure does not exceed 3 bar.
- Heat up the cylinder head to 60°C in a water bath.
- Visually inspect for a loss of pressure in the water bath.
- Remove all special tools.
- Install the venting connector.
